Public Hearing Tonight to Discuss Township Salaries

If approved by council, ordinance will provide a 2% pay increase to all non-union township workers.


The Cedar Grove Township Council will hold a public hearing Monday night to discuss salaries for township employees.

The ordinance under consideration would provide a 2% pay increase to all town hall employees, said Cedar Grove Mayor John Zunic.

The ordinance, which was open for public comment during the May 21 town council meeting and will be voted on by the council tonight at its 7 p.m. meeting, in accordance with state law.

If passed, the 2% pay increase will be provided to all non-union workers within the township.

“We started talking about this a couple of months ago,” Zunic said. “We want to keep in line with other town employees so they don't get left behind due to cost of living increases. At some point these employees need to receive an increase as well because they really do a good job.”
