Safe With $30K Stolen In Cedar Grove: Police
A thief allegedly stole a safe containing $30,000 from a Cedar Grove resident's basement, police say.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — A thief allegedly stole a safe containing $30,000 from a Cedar Grove resident’s basement on Sunday, police say.
According to the Cedar Grove Police Department, a Stevens Avenue resident said that two days before the theft, a man came to her door and identified himself as an employee of the Cedar Grove Water Department.
The man told the homeowner that there was a water problem in the area and he needed to access her basement to inspect the meter, police said.

The homeowner later noticed that a safe containing $30,000 was missing from the basement of the residence, police said.
Cedar Grove police are investigating the incident.
