Scout's Car Wash to Raise Money for Eagle Scout Project

Boy Scout Troop 65 member Sean Romeo will be running a fund-raising car wash at the Cedar Grove Elks Lodge on Saturday June 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The car wash will benefit his Eagle Scout project to refurbish the benches at Morgan's Farm in Cedar Grove, which are in need of serious repair. The project is expected to cost over $2,000 in order to fully refurbish and repair all 16 benches currently lining the former Morgan's Farm ice rink.

The farm is used for many town and Scout events. Sean is a junior at St. Peter's Prep high school in Jersey City. Only 4 percent of Boy Scouts ever reach the rank of Eagle Scout which requires high levels of community service and achievement. Eagle Scout candidates must raise all funds and execute the entire project with help from other scouts in his troop. Car washes are $5 a piece. The Elks Lodge is located on the corner of Bowden and Little Falls Road. For more information please call 973-857-4383.
