Taalim School of Indian Music Hosts Poetry Lecture
Teacher and scholar Pt. Divyang Vakil will present the work of 15th-century poet Kabir, on Saturday, December 8 at 6 p.m.

Taalim School of Indian Music, located at 243 Little Falls Rd in Cedar Grove will be holding a free poetry lecture on the works of the mystic 15th-century poet Kabir.
Teacher and scholar Pt. Divyang Vakil will present the poets work on Saturday, December 8 at 6 p.m.
“Kabir spoke without discrimination and his words are still, or perhaps even more so, relevant today,” Taalim School said in a written statement. “Kabir's work speaks of identity, nationalism, religion, death, impermanence and more.”

Many of Kabir's poems were highly philosophical and require a great degree of unravelling to understand, they said.
“The language of instruction will be in English, but given that the poetry is in rural Hindi, an understanding of Hindi will be helpful,” members of the school advised.
