“The Township of Verona does permit property owners to prepay 2018 taxes. At this point, only the 1st and 2nd quarter 2018 property tax amounts are known, but the township will allow property owners to prepay up to the total amount paid for 2017. Payments must be received by the Tax Office by December 30 at 1 p.m. If your property taxes are currently paid through your mortgage company, we strongly recommend you contact them prior to making any prepayment. No refunds will be issued on prepayments of 2018 taxes. The Township of Verona makes no representation concerning the deductibility of any payments for income tax purposes. If you have any questions please contact the tax office at 973-857-4777 or email revenuecollection@veronanj.org."
Verona officials added:
“The Tax Office will be open for tax payments only this Saturday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Online payments must be received by 4 p.m. on Dec. 27 so payments can be processed before the New Year.”
