Three Injured in Cedar Grove Car Accident
Police: Weather, speeding played role in crash.

Slippery streets and a speeding driver resulted in a car accident early this morning on Ridge Road in Cedar Grove that sent two men to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Police said a 29-year-old West Orange man was speeding when he crossed the double yellow lines after turning his 2000 Toyota Camry onto Ridge Road from Pompton Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. Friday
The driver struck a second vehicle, a 2008 Ford pick-up truck, which was sitting at a red light at the intersection of Pompton Avenue and Ridge Road. The force of the impact pushed the truck over a curb and onto a resident's lawn, police said.

The driver of the truck, a 29-year-old Irvington man, complained of head pain at the scene. His passenger, a 49-year-old Orange resident, reported experiencing neck pain. Both men were transported by ambulance to Mountainside Hospital in Montclair with non-life threatening injuries, Police Chief Richard Vanderstreet said in a telephone interview.
The Camry driver complained of leg pain but refused medical treatment at the scene. Vanderstreet said the officers' report blamed slippery road conditions and speeding for the crash.
