Trailblazing Medieval Times ‘Queen’ Visits Cedar Grove (PHOTOS)
A visit from one of Medieval Times' first-ever female rulers will remain in the memories of several young Cedar Grove residents.
CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Hear ye, hear ye… the queen has left Cedar Grove. But a visit from one of Medieval Times’ trailblazing “queens” will remain in the memories of several young readers in the Essex County suburb.
“Queen Isabella” – one of several people chosen to portray the Lyndhurst landmark’s first-ever female rulers – visited the Cedar Grove Public Library earlier this week to hold a story-time reading event. The royal appearance was part of a summer tour to several libraries as part of the New Jersey Public Library's summer reading program, "Libraries Rock!"
In January, six women have been chosen to play the new female monarch at Medieval Times’ Lyndhurst location, a watershed moment in the restaurant/theater’s 28-year history. In the show, the queen acts as a central character, inheriting the throne after the death of her father, the king.
