Trick-or-Treating Postponed in Cedar Grove
Council, Board of Education cite safety concerns following fluke October Nor'easter.

The Cedar Grove Council and Board of Education have announced that tomorrow's trick-or-treating will be postponed to a later date after a rare October Nor'easter dumped several inches of snow in the area on Saturday.
Mayor John Zunic and Board of Education President Frank Mandala said Sunday night that potential hazards resulting from the storm, which sent countless tree limbs and power lines to the ground in the township, are what drove their decision.
"We ask that parents keep their children home tomorrow and not go out for trick-or-treating because we still have power lines and tree limbs down, and you never know if more trees are going to fall," Zunic said.

However, don't throw out those "Fun Size" candy bars just yet. Mandala and Zunic said the township's ghouls, ghosts and goblins will still have their chance to celebrate, and that they are hoping to reschedule trick-or-treating for Friday, Nov. 4.
The date is not yet certain, but officials said the confirmed date will be chosen and announced soon.
