Verona Brothers To Play Football Together at Northwestern University

Two brothers at Bergen Catholic High School will both be playing for the Northwestern Wildcats in the fall of 2014.

Two Verona brothers have announced they will both be attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. to play football for the Wildcats.

Cameron Queiro of Verona, a current Bergen Catholic student-athlete has “verbally committed” to playing football at Northwestern University, according to school officials.

The Verona junior, an outside linebacker for Bergen Catholic, said he will be joining his older brother Kyle, a senior defensive back for the Bergen Catholic Crusaders at Northwestern to play for coach Pat Fitzgerald’s program in the fall of 2014, said Bergen Catholic's Sports Information Director Dan Long.

“Cameron Queiro started at outside linebacker for Bergen Catholic in the 2012 season, and finished an injury-shortened season with 36 tackles and 2 tackles for a loss,” said Long.

“Queiro had a season-high 11 tackles against Don Bosco Prep, and is expected to once again be a defensive starter and playmaker for the Crusader defense in 2013," he said.

Northwestern University is coming off a (10-3) season in 2012 which saw the Wildcats win their first postseason bowl game since 1949, and finish ranked in the nation’s Top 25, added Long.
