Verona, Cedar Grove 2017 Election Results: Who Won, Lost?

The Essex County Clerk released the final results of the 2017 municipal elections in Verona and Cedar Grove.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — The Essex County Clerk’s Office has tallied the results in 100 percent of the voting districts in Verona and Cedar Grove for the 2017 municipal elections on May 9; here are this year’s winners, according to the county clerk.

In the 2017 Cedar Grove Township Council race, with 10 out of 10 districts reported, Joe Cicala, Kerry Peterson and Robbie Vargo have taken the three available seats. The final results include:

  • Robbie Vargo - 1,166 (29.49%)
  • Kerry Peterson - 1,136 (28.73%)
  • Joseph Cicala - 1,056 votes (26.71%)
  • Donald Elting – 580 (14.67%)
  • Write-In – 16 (0.4%)

In the 2017 Verona Township Council race, with 11 out of 11 districts reported, Jack McEvoy, Kevin Ryan and Ted Giblin claimed the three available seats. The final results include:

  • Jack McEvoy – 1,774 votes (25.43%)
  • Kevin Ryan – 1,304 (18.69%)
  • Edward ''Ted'' Giblin – 1,265 (18.13%)
  • Carrie Ford – 1,242 (17.8%)
  • Christopher Piccuirro – 731 (10.48%)
  • Donna Cannizzaro - 651 (9.33%)
  • Write-In – 10 (0.14%)
