Verona, Cedar Grove Lose Power Again

Township losing power as a nor'easter hits New Jersey, just a few days after residents got their power back following Hurricane Sandy.

Here we go again.

Residents of Verona and Cedar Grove are losing power once again as a nor'easter, now named Winter Storm Athena, hit the towns on Wednesday afternoon.

“The township is experiencing a wide spread power outage,” Cedar Grove police said. “PSE&G is aware of the problem and is working on a repair.”

Residents of both towns were just starting to get their power back after Hurricane Sandy ravaged New Jersey.

Verona police are urging residents to call PSE&G instead of the police desk.

Cedar Grove has arranged a warming station at the town's Ambulance and Rescue Squad for anyone without power. Residents can bring their toiletries, take a hot shower, charge their devices and enjoy the warmth.
