Verona Homeowner Foils Would-Be Car Thieves: Police
A Verona homeowner scared off would-be thieves, who then fled the scene in a black Porsche Cayenne, police said.

VERONA, NJ — A Verona homeowner managed to interrupt a car theft in progress on Fairview Avenue on Tuesday night, authorities said.
According to the Verona Police Department, the homeowner scared off the would-be thieves, who then fled the scene in a black Porsche Cayenne.
Police issued the following advisory at 8:34 p.m.:

“As always, please lock your vehicles! An attempted motor vehicle theft occurred on Fairview Ave this evening. Fortunately, the thieves were scared off by the homeowner. The suspect vehicle (a black Porsche Cayenne) was then spotted by Verona Officer McMahon, at which time the suspect vehicle fled the area. Please call 9-1-1 or 973-239-5000 to report any suspicious activity. Remember - Lock It or Lose It.”
