Verona Lions Club Connects In-Need Residents With Wheelchairs

Verona residents who need a wheelchair – or who have one they no longer need – should reach out to the Verona Lions Club.

VERONA, NJ — Verona residents who need a wheelchair – or who have one they no longer need – have a local resource to reach out to: the Verona Lions Club.

On Thursday, the local nonprofit reminded residents that it’s still collecting donations of “gently used wheelchairs” to redistribute to people in-need. So far, the Verona Lions Club Medical Loan Closet has delivered about 40 wheelchairs, its members reported.

“If you no longer are in need of the wheelchair can you call us to come pick it up? We are also accepting gently used wheelchairs that you would like to donate and help others in our community.”

Residents can reach out to Lions Club members Joe Benyo at 973-239-4196, or Paul Grimes at 862-368-1908 for more information.

Verona officials praised the local donation drive, calling it “an amazing resource in town that a lot of people don’t know about.”
