Police activity June 30-July 7.

The following reports were prepared by the Verona Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.

06/30/2011

10:22 PM Officer Ron Thorward responded to a Robert Court residence and took a report of a burglary. The resident reported returning home to find the home was broken into and numerous pieces of jewelry are missing. It appears entry was gained through a second floor window. The Detective Bureau was called and is investigating.

10:31 PM Officer Michael Barone responded to a Grove Avenue business and took a report of a dispute.

07/01/2011

8:44 AM Officer Joseph Ballantyne responded to a Cambridge Road residence and took a report of a theft from a vehicle. The resident reported sometime overnight his car was entered and several items were stolen.

3:04 PM Officer Robert Shafer took a report of harassment from a Hillside resident.

6:13 PM Officer Robert Shafer took a report of lost property from a Linn Drive resident.

07/03/2011

5:43 PM Officer Timothy Banta took a report of harassment from a Martin Road resident.

6:14 PM Officer Paul Watkins took a report of a larceny from a Cedar Knolls resident after man reported placing his wallet on a table at a local restaurant and forgetting it. Upon returning to the restaurant, the wallet was missing. A local resident found the wallet on Personette Avenue and turned it over to the police department. Missing is approximately $90.00 in cash.

8:34 PM Officer Timothy Banta impounded a vehicle observed traveling on Grove Avenue after stopping the driver for speeding. A check of the credentials showed a suspended registration as well as no insurance on the vehicle. Several summonses were issued.

07/05/2011

4:57 PM Officer Anthony Condorelli arrested Brielle Riso on numerous Verona
Warrants. While conducting an inventory of Ms. Riso’s property several items of drug paraphernalia were located. After processing the subject was transported to the Essex County Jail.

1:25 PM Officer James Barry took a report of a larceny from a Linn Drive resident.

3:56 PM Officer Robert Shafer responded to a Hillside Avenue residence and took a report of malicious mischief.

07/07/2011

4:06 PM Officer Timothy Banta responded to a Bloomfield Avenue service station on a report of an abandoned vehicle. The station manager reported a customer’s vehicle broke down while at a gas pump and the customer had left the area in another vehicle. The
vehicle was impounded. Several summonses were issued.
