Verona Police Blotter: Oct. 2 to 9

Editor’s Note: The following incidents are reprinted directly from the Verona police blotter, a listing of selected incidents that may not include the full scope of activity in the area. All of the following incidents are accusations, and all suspects should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

10/2/2015

7:32 AM - Officer Erin McGarrity took a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle from an Oakridge Road resident. The resident reported the vehicle was entered sometime during the previous day or overnight hours. Reported missing at this time is a wallet containing several gift cards and cash.

10/5/2015

3:03 PM - Officer Mike Barone took a report of trespassing at a Bloomfield Avenue residence. The super of the building reported that a former tenant who was evicted has been returning to the apartment. An attempt was made to contact the former tenant with negative results.

10/6/2015

7:29 AM - Officer Justin Nielsen took a report of harassing text messages from a Fairview Avenue resident. The resident reported he is receiving text messages from a number that he is not familiar with. The resident provided copies of the text message to the officer.

2:20 PM - Officer McGarrity took a report of property damage from a Lynnwood Road resident. The resident reported a tree from his neighbor’s yard fell into his yard and caused damage to his fence. The resident who owns the tree stated he would have the tree removed.

10/7/2015 - Officer McGarrity took a report of property damage from a Brentwood Drive resident. The resident reported while a landscaper was cutting the grass at a neighbor’s house a stone kicked up and shattered the window in his house. The value of the damage is unknown at this time.

10/8/2015

9:08 PM - Officer Robert Juliano took a report of harassing phone calls from a Park Avenue resident. The resident reported there was a harassing message left on his voicemail. The resident reported attempting to call back the number which went to a voice mail.

2:44 PM - Officer Anthony Condorelli took a report of a fraud from a Grove Avenue resident. The resident reported she was contacted by Verizon confirming a purchase she made on her account. The resident contacted Verizon and advised them she did not make this purchase.
