Verona to Install Gates at Personette Avenue

Personette Avenue in Verona will be getting new gates to help ease traffic congestion.

Verona's Personette Avenue will be seeing a new type of gate called a trombone to help ease the traffic congestion, according to a recently published report.

The trombone will facilitate westbound traffic while discouraging drivers from going down the wrong direction of the one-way Personette Avenue, township engineer Jim Helb told NorthJersey.com.

The project will be paid in part by a New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant of $200,000, which also includes paving the road.

The work should begin in June and take about six weeks to complete, said Helb.

"We're going to have a very aggressive construction schedule," he added. "I think this is going to be a great project."
