Verona United to Hold Comedy Night Fundraiser Tonight

Verona United Soccer Club is celebrating its 11th anniversary with a great night of
comedy.

“Comedy Night” will feature two New York City comedians, and will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at the Verona Community Center, 880 Bloomfield Ave.

Tickets are on sale now but will sell out fast. The fun and laughter will start at 7 p.m. when the doors open for the cocktail hour. The evening will also feature a buffet style dinner catered by Eight Hills. Beer, soda and coffee are also included.

All funds raised at this event will go to the children who play in the club to help cut costs and lower registration fees. Verona United also grants scholarships to graduating seniors at Verona High School. Over the past 11 years, the V.U.S.C. has been dedicated to improving the level of soccer in Verona.

The Master of Ceremonies for this event is Verona native, Luke Fess. Mr. Fess has been showcasing at a variety of Comedy Clubs in New York and will lead off the comedy night.

Joe Matarese will be the evening's second performer. He has a unique brand of cutting-edge stand-up comedy. He has had numerous TV appearances on Comedy Central and "The Tonight Show."

Our headliner for this evening is Kurt Metzger. He is widely regarded among his peers and industry professionals alike as one of today’s most talented performers. Kurt was one of the finalists on this past season’s “Last Comic Standing”
