Verona Woman Tried To Sell Drugs To Undercover Cop: Police

Police have charged three Essex County residents with conspiring to sell Xanax, authorities say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A two-month long joint investigation conducted by the Verona and Cedar Grove Police Departments into persons suspected of illegally distributing controlled dangerous substances resulted into the execution of arrest and search warrants Tuesday on Franklin Street in Verona, authorities say.

According to a news release from the Cedar Grove Police Department, Lauren D. Traettino, 26, of Verona, was charged with illegally possessing, conspiring to sell and selling Xanax to an undercover police officer, in addition to illegally possessing nine glassine envelopes containing heroin, drug paraphernalia and six hypodermic needles.

Traettino was processed on all charges and released pending a Superior Court arraignment in Newark after posting bond on a $50,000 bail, police stated.

In addition, Kathy Y. Hilton-Traettino, 62, of Verona was charged with conspiring with Traettino and a third suspect, Joshua P. Munn, 26, of Fairfield, to illegally distribute CDS Xanax. She was processed on the charge and released pending a Superior Court arraignment.

Police also stated that warrants were issued for the arrest of Munn on charges that he illegally possessed, conspired to sell and sold CDS Xanax to an undercover police officer.

Police are currently seeking Munn and he has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer as a wanted person, authorities said.
