VHS Marching Band Honored at National Competition
Takes home Cadet Awards, second place in national championships.
The Verona High School Marching Band has plenty to be proud of after a triumphant season that concluded earlier this month at the two-day A-Class National Championships at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, Penn.
The maroon and white faced off against 77 other schools, wowing the crowd with their 2011 field "A Hungarian Fantasy", featuring the music of Franz Liszt and Zoltan Kod, finishing in a close second place finish with a score of 96.825, and taking home the coveted Cadets Award of Excellence for creativity, performance and overall effect for the second week in a row.
