Westbridge Academy to Offer "Mindfulness" Workshop For Educators
National Leader in Behavior Management Training To Share Strategies

Bloomfield, NJ – Westbridge Academy, a private school serving students with emotional disabilities, will host a free workshop for area educators entitled Mindfulness & Self-Management: Helping Students Make Lasting Change. The three-hour program, presented by nationally-recognized consultant and author, Dr. Howard Knoff, will offer evidence-based approaches to help prevent problem behaviors in students with disabilities in the classroom and at home.
Educator and behavior management expert, Dr. Howard Knoff, who has appeared on ABC and NBC television networks, will present school leaders with a toolbox of intervention strategies to use when students with disabilities exhibit challenging behaviors. In addition, he will introduce attendees to effective methods in promoting positive student behavior through mindful practices. Dr. Knoff has a proven track record of helping schools, students, and parents through his nationally-recognized school effectiveness/improvement program, Project ACHIEVE, and is dedicated to helping all students achieve successful futures.
Open to the public, the program is designed for teachers, special educators, child study teams, school directors, principals, therapists, and parents. Professional attendees may earn 3 free CEU credits.

The three-hour workshop will take place on Friday, December 4 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Westbridge Academy, located at 60 West Street in Bloomfield. The event is free of charge, but attendees must register by calling 973-429-8110 or on line.
ABOUT: Westbridge Academy is a New Jersey state-approved private school serving students with social, emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities ages 5-21. Located in Bloomfield NJ, the school serves children from nine counties. Students are placed by local school districts and attend at no cost to parents. The program is designed to blend best practices from psychology and education so that each student’s goals can be achieved.
