What You Need to Know About Tuesday's Primary
Who is running for local, county and state offices in June 7 Primary Election

State senate, general assembly, freeholder and municipal seats are all up for grabs in November's general election. But first, voters can go out and select their candidates of choice in the primary Tuesday.
William Sullivan, Republican State Senate candidate for the 27th Legislative District, and William H. Eames, a Tea Party Republican, are on the primary ballot and will try to unseat incumbent State Sen. Richard Codey (D-27) come November.
There are two open seats in the general assembly, currently held by John F. McKeon and Mila M. Jasey, both Democrats seeking re-election. Ellen Steinberg, a Democrat, and Republicans Lee Holtzman and Nicole Hagner, will also vie for those two assembly seats.

, of West Caldwell, is the Democratic candidate for the District 4 Freeholder seat being vacated by Linda Lordi Cavanaugh. He faces Republican opponent, , a councilman from Cedar Grove.
There are four at-large seats in the Board of Chosen Freeholders race. Democrats Donald M. Payne Jr., Patricia Sebold, Blonnie R. Watson and Rufus I. Johnson all seek re-election for three-year terms. They are challenged by Democrats LaDean Mitchell, D. Kim Thompson-Gaddy, William Spear and La Toya M. Wilson, as well as Charles N. Hall Jr. On the Republican side are Freeholders at-Large candidates Sue Ann Penna, Reuben Torres, Adam Kraemer and Peter Campisi.

The Caldwells will see only one contested municipal race this November.
In the Borough of Caldwell, incumbent Councilmen Joseph Norton and Douglas Piazza, both Republicans, will seek re-election for their open seats. They will be challenged by Frank Rodgers and John T. Kelley, both Democrats, for the three-year council terms.
In West Caldwell, there are two open seats, those presently held by Councilman Dominick Aiello and Council President Richard Otterbein. Both are Republicans and will seek re-election to three-year terms.
There are also two three-year terms expiring in North Caldwell, those of incumbent Councilmen John Chiaia and Cynthia Santomauro, both Republicans.
Polls will be open Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
