Nearby residents report constant humming, have filed noise complaints and lawsuits, and Vineland officials have issued stop-work orders as the company races to build a massive 350‑megawatt AI campus.
2. Feds Nab Alleged Gambino Associate for Extorting Vineland Cannabis Company (headynj.com) — Federal prosecutors say an alleged Gambino crime family associate tried to extort a licensed cannabis cultivation and manufacturing company based in Vineland, tied to a license potentially worth up to $150 million. Court records describe months of pressure and threats against the majority owner, with a plea hearing now scheduled for late October in Camden federal court.
3. $100,000 gift by Gorny family will establish antisemitism lecture series at Stockton (jewishvoicesnj.org) — A new $100,000 fund at Stockton University will support an annual lecture series on understanding and confronting antisemitism, honoring Holocaust survivors Eva and Morris Gorny, who once ran a poultry farm in Vineland. Their son Jack and his wife Bethanie hope the series will educate students and the wider South Jersey community about antisemitism's dangers and the importance of resilience and learning.
4. New Jersey man sentenced to prison after threatening cathedral before last year's Red Mass (cathstan.org) — A Vineland man has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for threatening to detonate explosives outside St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, D.C., before the 2025 Red Mass. Authorities say he brought more than 100 devices and a list of demands targeting religious leaders and government institutions, with the judge citing both serious mental health issues and the gravity of the threat.
5. Vineland Man Gets Nearly Six Years in Prison Over Explosives Brought to Washington Cathedral (communitynews.org) — A Vineland man has been sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison after bringing more than 100 homemade explosive devices and a list of demands to a Washington, D.C., cathedral before last year's Red Mass. Prosecutors said he intended to harm people and major landmarks if his demands weren't met, while the judge weighed the seriousness of the threat against his mental health history.
