1 Ticket Wins Wall Woman $249K Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot
Cheryl Terranova got a big surprise when she checked her numbers.

WALL, NJ — A Wall Township woman got a big surprise recently when she checked her on a Jersey Cash 5 ticket she'd bought: a $249,000 payoff, New Jersey lottry officials said Friday.
Cheryl Terranova of the West Belmar section had just one Quick Pick ticket for the June 26 drawing in the Jersey Cash 5 game. The next day, while on her way to meet her father to run some errands, Terranova decided to stop in to a local store and check her ticket from the night before.
Terranova scannd her ticket and the message "See clerk" popped up, officials said.

"It took her a few moments to fully realize what was happening; she thought it meant she must have won a prize," they said.
She signed the back of the ticket and handed it to the clerk for validation and the clerk informed Terranova that she had won the $249,150 jackpot from the day before – not the $75,000 that displayed on the signs that day, which had been reset due to her jackpot win, officials said.

Her errands with her father took a detour, to the New Jersey Lottery headquarters to validate her ticket.
Lottery officials said Terranova told them she planned to use some of the funds to replace her old car.
She bought her ticket at Stop & Shop 873 on 2275 West County Line Road in Jackson.
