4 Injured, 11 Cars Damaged In Wall Township Chain-Reaction Crash
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Route 70 and Riverview Drive on Tuesday, according to Wall police.
WALL, NJ – Four individuals were injured in a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 70 westbound and Riverview Drive on Tuesday, according to authorities.
Officers from the Wall Township Police Department responded to the scene on Sept. 8 at approximately 4:16 p.m. to discover several vehicles damaged in a chain-reaction crash on the road, according to a news release.
An investigation found that numerous vehicles were stopped at a red light when a 66-year-old Wall resident driving a Ford F350 pickup truck “failed to stop for the red traffic signal" and subsequently slammed into the rear of two vehicles in the left and right lanes of Route 70.

Four individuals were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center and Ocean County Medical Center for minor injuries. The injured include a 55-year-old male from Brick, a 36-year-old male from Washington, a 74-year-old female from Freehold and a 66-year-old male from Wall Township.
Police later found that the 66-year-old pickup truck driver was involved in two other minor
collisions along Route 35 before the Route 70 collision.

State Highway 70 westbound near Riverview Road was closed for about one hour while police conducted an investigation. Wall Township EMS, Brielle EMS, Brick Township EMS and the
South Wall Fire Department responded to the scene.
