5-Vehicle Crash On Garden State Parkway In Wall Cleared
New Jersey State Police said there were serious injuries in the crash; it was cleared about 3:30 p.m. but traffic backups remained.

WALL, NJ — A crash involving five vehicles resulted in serious injuries Friday afternoon, New Jersey State Police said.
The crash had been blocking three lanes of traffic on the southbound Garden State Parkway, but the crash was cleared about 3:30 on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office issued an alert that said five vehicles were involved in the crash, and the state Department of Transportation said one vehicle overturned.
Troopers responded to the crash at milepost 96.8 at 12:04 p.m., New Jersey State Trooper Brandi Slota said. She did not have any details on those injured as finalized reports had not been filed.

The traffic backup stretched for 4 miles Friday afternoon, according to the NJDOT website 511nj.org, as volume increased with people trying to get home ahead of Friday's storm.
