9 Arrested In Wall In Connection With Santander ATM Scam: Cops
Wall police arrested individuals from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in connection with a multi-state ATM scam investigation.
WALL, NJ – Nine individuals were arrested by Wall Township police on Tuesday in connection with an ongoing ATM scam at Santander Bank branches throughout New York and New Jersey.
The scam reportedly stems from a glitch in Santander Bank ATM machine, allowing individuals to continuously withdraw cash using prepaid debit cards. Reports of fraudulent withdrawals have been popping up in several counties throughout New York and New Jersey since Tuesday morning.

The subjects arrested allegedly used Santander Bank ATMs to withdraw cash using fake debit cards, according to Wall police.
Eight New York men and one man from Pennsylvania were arrested on Tuesday:

- Anthony J. Kelly, 31 years old, Brooklyn, N.Y. was charged with one count of third degree theft by unlawful taking and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
- Clifton L. Davis, 29 years old, Brooklyn, N.Y. was charged with one count of third degree theft by unlawful taking, one count of third degree possession of oxycodone and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
- Barrington L. Wright, 25 year old, Brooklyn, N.Y. was charged with one count of third degree theft by unlawful taking and possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
- Sean A. Bennett, 22, Chester, N.Y. was charged with one count of fourth degree theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Robert J. Glisson Jr., 24, Bronx, N.Y. was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Timothy A. Gonzalez, 26, Bronx, N.Y. was charged with one count of fourth degree theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Quentin L. Price, 24, Bethlehem, P.A. was charged with one count of fourth degree theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The following subjects were also transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution after arrest processing and are being held pending a future court date:
- Tyrell T. Mingo, 24 years old, Teaneck, N.J. charged with one count of third degree theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Leroy C. Woods-Williams, 24 years old, Hackensack, N.J. charged with one count of third degree theft by unlawful taking, possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
As reported by NJ.com, a multi-jurisdictional investigation is currently underway in several New York and New Jersey counties. Sources told the news website that tens of thousands of dollars have been fraudulently obtained through the scam.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Santander Bank temporarily closed ATMs located in Wall Township,” Wall police wrote in a statement on Wednesday.
“Santander Bank is continuing to assist the Wall Township Police Department with this investigation.”
The Wall Township Police Department is not aware of any Santander customer accounts that were impacted during this investigation.
Police are urging those with any information regarding suspicious ATM activity to contact the Wall Police Department at (732) 449-4500.
