Today in New Jersey history:
March 18, 1837: Grover Cleveland, twenty-second and twenty-fourth president of the United States, the only president to serve two nonconsecutive terms, was born in Caldwell. After his presidency he lived in Princeton, and is buried there.
An anti-Cleveland campaign song, referring to his paternity of an out of wedlock child, asked, "Ma, Ma, where's Pa?" The refrain was "He's in the White House, ha, ha, ha."
