400+ Pounds Of Prescription Medications Collected In Wall, Police Say

WALL, NJ — The Wall Township Police Department collected over 400 pounds of unused and unwanted prescription medications for the DEA’s 2026 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.

Each year, this nationwide initiative aims to provide the public with a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of their unused or expired medications.

As a result of the initiative for 2026, a total of 410 pounds of unused and unwanted prescription medications were collected from community members and submitted for safe destruction, Wall Police said.

“The Wall Township Police Department extends its appreciation to all residents who participated in this important effort,” Wall Police said. “Proper disposal of medications helps prevent drug misuse, reduces the risk of accidental poisoning, and protects the environment.”

While National Prescription Drug Take Back Day has ended, the Wall Township Police Department maintains a permanent prescription drug drop box at police headquarters, which is available for use year-round.
