AVON-BY-THE-SEA, NJ — A new breakfast and lunch bistro has opened its doors in Monmouth County.
Little Gem, located on Main Street in Avon-By-The-Sea, officially opened toward the end of March and offers various breakfast and lunch options to residents and visitors alike.
Open Wednesday through Sunday, the new restaurant aims to bring “refined simplicity and genuine hospitality to Avon-by-the-Sea — where thoughtful food meets a true neighborhood gathering place.”
According to a post from the bistro, the Little Gem market is expected to follow this summer.
“Little Gem blends refined cooking with the warmth of a true neighborhood spot,” the bistro said in an online post. “A heartfelt homecoming from brothers Justin and Stephen Skribner to Avon, the gem-of-a-town that shaped them.”
According to the Little Gem website, Chef Justin Skribner brings 20+ years of experience to the bistro, while his brother, Stephen Skribner, brings over two decades of experience behind the bar to running Little Gem’s front-of-house and beverage program.
Their menu ranges from breakfast options such as french toast and classic omelets to smoked salmon benedict and mortadella sandwiches, while their lunch menu offers options like cauliflower soup, fried chicken sandwiches, salads and more.
“The menu is guided by seasonality and local purveyors, with elevated takes on breakfast and lunch classics — from house-made pastries and perfectly poached eggs to composed salads and thoughtful, satisfying plates,” the bistro’s website reads.
“The result is food that feels effortless but is anything but — refined, balanced, and quietly exceptional, without ever losing its sense of comfort or approachability.”
Little Gem is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
