What drove you to seek public office?
As a teacher, I never saw myself heading into public office. When I found out that I would be only the fourth woman to serve on the Township Committee, I wanted not only to serve our community but also to empower women’s leadership and development.
Bringing my passion from the classroom to public service, it has become my mission to inspire future generations to serve and give back to their community.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
Something that sets me apart from other candidates is my passion for serving our community, combined with my goal-oriented and results-driven approach.
My record of accomplishments over the past two terms speaks volumes about my commitment to consistently improving our community's quality of life.
What are past accomplishments or experiences that make you qualified for this position?
I have served as a member of the Wall Township Committee since 2021 and currently have the honor of serving as Mayor. Over the past two terms, we have achieved numerous accomplishments that I believe demonstrate why I am the most qualified candidate to continue serving our community.
I am incredibly proud of how the township has partnered with Monmouth County to assist with our land preservation efforts. The first property we preserved this year is 2030 Bailey's Corner Road. This approximately 8.4-acre parcel adjoins Wall Township’s preserved Open Space to the north and is bordered by the bike path to the east. I will continue to ensure our town preserves more open space to prevent overdevelopment by maintaining our strong partnership with Monmouth County.
I am proud that we have kept municipal taxes stable by utilizing grant funding to strengthen responsible spending and budgeting, while enhancing efficiency through shared services. I led essential capital enhancements to the Municipal Building, including the revitalization of the community room and public corridors to improve accessibility.
In 2021, I formed both the Women’s Leadership Committee and the Young Women’s Leadership Committee. These organizations cultivate professional mentorship and civic engagement through workshops, scholarship programs, and community service initiatives that address our local needs.
I also strongly advocated for modernizing the township’s “digital front door” to provide better services for residents. This began with launching a new user-friendly township website that allows residents to find information quickly and efficiently.
Currently, the township is building a dedicated town mobile app, which will highlight municipal updates, service requests, and community events. We also strengthened our community connection by updating all social media platforms to reach residents of all ages. This has helped foster greater transparency and consistent communication while also allowing us to celebrate our local success stories.
As the recreation liaison, I work closely with our Recreation Department to ensure our township parks and youth programs stay exceptional for all Wall families, while actively pursuing grant opportunities to enhance our local parks and facilities. Then, to further support our youth, I formed the Knights of Tomorrow: Youth Advisory Council this year. This council empowers our next generation by giving students a direct voice in municipal recreation, environmental volunteerism, and peer-led safety initiatives.
Health and community dialogue have also been major priorities for me this year. I launched the Mayor’s Wellness Series, which focuses on the eight pillars of wellness to foster a culture of physical and emotional health for all residents. I also introduced the 2026 Mayor’s Coffee and Conversation series, which provides a unique opportunity for residents to voice questions or concerns, build an ongoing dialogue, and strengthen the bond between local government and their community.
Finally, I have been involved in planning numerous events to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of Wall Township and collaborated with local businesses to launch 175-themed products.
I look forward to celebrating with everyone at the 175th Anniversary Parade on June 26th and the 175th Anniversary Gala on October 3rd.
If re-elected, what will be your top priorities in your new role?
If re-elected to the Township Committee, I will build upon the initiatives we are currently working to accomplish. I will continue to be dedicated to education, community leadership, and public service.
I will also remain focused on fiscal responsibility, restoring public trust, advancing women’s leadership, and preserving the community’s character.
Name one thing about Wall that always makes you smile.
One thing about Wall that always makes me smile is connecting with the people who call our town home.
Wall exemplifies the true essence of community. As we celebrate Wall’s 175th Anniversary, our catchphrase, “History and Heart,” perfectly captures the spirit of our town.
The kindness, compassion, and genuine care that residents show each day reflect the immense pride we all share in our community.
