Are You Too Heavy To Drive On Town Roads?

The Township Committee is looking to keep heavy trucks off some local roads.

The committee, at its workshop meeting on Wednesday, discussed a scheduled introduction of an ordinance that would regulate the weight limit of some town roads. 

Township Administrator Joe Verruni said the ordinance, which is not yet publicly available, is the result of the committee's concern about truck traffic on some residential roads. He did not say which roads Wednesday.

"Our police and our engineering department have been working on it for some time,'' Verruni said.

The ordinance is scheduled to be introduced at the Township Committee's June 8 meeting.
