Circus Drive-In Sign Found, Wasn't Stolen After All: Wall Police
The 3-foot by 10-inch sign advertising Maryland soft shell crabs was misplaced, police said.

WALL, NJ — The Circus Drive-In sign that was reported stolen a week ago has been found, Wall Township police said. And apparently, it was never stolen in the first place.
Wall police had posted a request for the public's help on Facebook, saying the double-sided sign that reads "Maryland Jumbo Soft Shell Crabs" had been taken from the site of the restaurant, which was razed in early May. The sign, which was approximately 3 feet long by 10 inches wide, was mounted right below the “Circus Drive In” sign with its famous clown face. The sign was the only thing left standing at the site.
On Wednesday, however, police reported the property owner had found the sign.

"It was missing due to an oversight and not a theft," Wall Capt. Greg Carpino said.
The new owner of the site has not said what is going to replace the restaurant but has been seeking at least one tenant for the site.
