Community Day is the hospital’s signature event that features a Children’s Health Fair presented by K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital. The free day of family fun has a healthy twist. Guests can enjoy the interactive children’s health fair, a complimentary catered lunch, music and an inflatable play area that will feature a 70-foot Extreme Obstacle Course, Sports Mania attraction, and Fun Derby races. Valuable health information and free screenings include blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, stroke and bone density.

Kids will have a blast at the teddy bear clinic, where the first 500 guests will receive a free teddy bear donated by iPlay America. Kids will then make their way through an interactive display area where team members from many hospital departments will make learning about health and wellness a ton of fun. Guests can register for a chance to win great door prizes like a free birthday party at iPlay America at HackensackMeridianHealth.org/CommunityDay or 1-800-560-9990.

The day will also include a special appearance by Doctor Bernard and the “Pawsitive Action Team,” K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital’s special team of friends who teach children how to stay healthy, eat right, stay fit, and be safe.

Tours of the new HOPE Tower will be offered at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Free parking for the event is available in the HOPE Tower garage.

“Community Day at Jersey Shore University Medical Center is a great celebration of fun, fitness and family. The children’s health fair and teddy bear clinic is a terrific, interactive way for us to share information with the community about staying healthy, have them meet our dedicated team members, and learn about our health care services and expertise,” says Kenneth N. Sable, M.D., MBA, FACEP, president of Jersey Shore University Medical Center and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital.
