Crimson Knights Softball Champs Hailed For Winning Season

State, county leaders praise girls for first championship in 22 years

The Wall High School Crimson Knights softball team was honored for its recent Shore Conference championship, the first for the team in more than two decades.

The team closed its season with a 25-5 record and the first championship in 22 years, beating the third-seeded St. John Vianney team 8-7 for the title.

The Shore Conference is comprised of private and public high schools and operates under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Each member of the team was given a proclamation from the Monmouth County Freeholders and certificates from state Assemblyman Dave Rible.

“Every time you walk into this building you’ll be able to see the trophy and say you were part of that,” Freeholder Gary J. Rich said. “It is a memory you will have forever.”

The Shore Conference winning Crimson Knights Softball Team members are: Sydney Canessa, Alexis Carlsson, Emily Cilinski, Alexandra Clayton, Jessica Goldman, Jennifer Guerriero, Carly Herbert, Mary Kilgallen, Kirby Marron, Danielle Petrone, Nicole Petrone, Amanda Pringle, Katie Wingel, Alex Doman, Xiara Ramos, Hannah Hunt and John Michael Keynton, who were led by Head Coach Anthony Vodola and  Tom Jansky, Jerry Schulte, Sherri Cate, Brad Hansen, Ashley Wilson  and Maggie Margadonna.
