The road closed after a tractor-trailer became tangled with the wires and pulled down transformers and a supporting pole, police told Patch.

WALL, NJ — A local road is closed after an accident involving a tractor-trailer brought down wires and a supporting pole on Wednesday afternoon, Wall Police Lt. Steven Nash told Patch.

Around 12:44 p.m. on Wednesday, Nash said a tractor-trailer was going west on Laurel Avenue, approaching Route 35, when it became tangled with telecommunication wires and pulled down transformers and a supporting pole.

The incident led to the closure of Laurel Avenue between Route 35 and Willow Drive on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Nash, JCP&L is currently on-scene replacing the pole and equipment involved in the crash.

The road will be closed until repairs are made, and no injuries were reported.

Police are urging residents to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as crews work to resolve the issue.
