Drivers Must Stop For School Bus Drop-Off On Hwy 35, Wall PD Says

The department "recently received complaints" about motorists failing to stop for buses. The first fine for passing a school bus is $100.

WALL, NJ - The Wall Township Police Department is reminding motorists to stop in either direction on an undivided highway for a stopped school bus amid several complaints of drivers failing to abide by the law on Highway 35.

In New Jersey, traffic must stop in either direction on an undivided highway when a school bus is stopped with the red flashing lights on, Wall police said in a statement Thursday. Drivers must wait for all the children to exit the school bus and the school bus driver to turn off the red flashing lights before traffic can proceed, and must stop at least 25 feet from the school bus in both directions.

Highway 35 in Wall Township is an undivided highway.
