WALL, NJ — The former operator of Wall Stadium locked herself in the racetrack's office on Saturday, forcing police to break down the door and arrest her, Wall Township police said.

Emily Krause, 37, of Neptune, was charged with defiant trespass and obstruction, Wall Lt. Steven Nash said.

Krause had been the tenant until Jan. 15, when her lease on the property ended, Nash said. According to the Wall Stadium website, Krause had held the lease for 15 years; 2025 was the family's farewell season, according to the website.

On Saturday, she went to the racetrack despite having been told she was no longer allowed on the premises and put locks on the fences surrounding the office and on the track access areas, preventing the new management from getting into the property, Nash said.

Krause then went into the office and the track overlook area and locked herself inside the building, he said.

The track's management and its new leaseholders called Wall police about 9:40 a.m. but Krause refused to cooperate with police and refused to come out of the building despite being told she was trespassing, Nash said.

Officers then forced their way into the office and Krause was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy, Nash said.

Krause was charged on a summons and released pending appearances in Wall Township Municipal Court.
