Fireworks, Run Will Mean Road Closings In Wall
Police outline road closings planned for the township fireworks July 3 and the Firecracker 5-Mile Run July 4.
WALL, N.J.— Fireworks here on July 3 and a 5-mile run on Monday, July 4, mean lots of fun in the town, but some road closures too, police advise.
The events follow the Wall Township Fair that begins at 5 p.m. on June 30 at the Wall Community Park at the Municipal Complex. The fair runs through July 3. Ride tickets and wristbands for the fair go on sale at the opening of the fair on June 30.

The annual Fourth of July fireworks display will take place Sunday, July 3, at dark about 9 p.m. at the Municipal Complex located at Allaire and Bailey’s Corner Roads, here, police said.
Parking for the event will be in the parking area of the Wall Township Pop Warner Football Fields, near Bailey’s Corner Road just north of the Municipal Complex. Parking will also be permitted on Williamsburg, Colonial and Concord Drives. No parking is permitted on Bailey's Corner or Allaire roads. Handicapped parking will be available at the Wall Township Pop Warner Fields.

Police Department personnel will be present to direct and assist with the flow of traffic. After the fair closes each night, traffic will be directed from the North Parking Lot of the Pop Warner Complex north on Bailey’s Corner Road towards 18th Avenue. The South Parking Lot of the Pop Warner field will be directed South on Bailey’s Corner Road. Traffic from the Municipal Complex will be directed East on Allaire Road. Portions of Allaire Road and Bailey’s Corner Road will be closed during this time to expedite traffic. Residents and motorists should make alternate plans during this time.
Firecracker 5-Mile Run, July 4
The annual Firecracker Five-Mile Run is scheduled for Monday, July 4, and will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m., police said.
Before the run, the following roads will be closed to motor vehicles from approximately 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.:
- Allaire Road between New Bedford Road and the Allenwood Traffic Circle.
- Campbell Road between Allaire Road and 18th Avenue.
- Bailey’s Corner Road between Allaire Road and 18th Avenue.
- Celeste Drive, Murray Drive, Carriage Hill Drive and Concord Drive will be closed between Bailey’s Corner Road and 18th.
- New Bedford Road between 18th Avenue and Allaire Road.
- All roads on the route also will be closed.
All residents and the public are urged to take these road closings into account and make alternate travel plans. For safety, no traffic will be allowed on the closed roads. In addition, runners are urged to arrive early since the roads are closed and they will not be allowed to proceed to the Municipal Complex.
The Wall Township Police Department is asking for the cooperation of its residents, the public, and the media in making this announcement in order to help make these events a success.
