Gas Price Monday: Gallon Can Be Had For Less Than $3.00

Gas prices in town fell an average of 3 cents since last week – making a full month of weekly fuel cost declines. The average price for a gallon of regular grade at cash price is $3.08, down from last week’s average of $3.11.

The Circle Service Station at routes 33 and 34 and the Gulf on Route 35 at Allaire Road, lead the pack with the least expensive fuel cost – each is selling for less than $3, at $2.99 a gallon.

It is the first time the $3 threshold has been broken since before summer. The high was in early May, ahead of the unofficial Memorial Day start of the summer season, when the average gas price was $3.85 a gallon.

The most expensive gas is again going for $3.29 a gallon, at the Gulf station at Route 35 and Sea Girt Avenue, where the price for a gallon has remained unchanged for three weeks.
