You didn't really need another reason to treat yourself to Dairy Queen today, did you?

It’s going to be another hot, humid day in Monmouth County -- the kind of day that will have you wishing for a Blizzard.
Not of the winter variety, but of the Dairy Queen ice cream variety.
And today, on Dairy Queen’s national Miracle Treat Day, if you buy a Blizzard -- that mixture of soft-serve ice cream with chunks of Oreos or Reece’s Pieces any of several other delectable treats -- $1 from the purchase will be donated to a local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

At the Shore, the money would go to Children’s Specialized Hospital, which offers a variety of therapies for children with special needs, as well as long-term pediatric care.
