Light Up The Night At Community Vigil Event In Wall

"Light the Night" is an evening of remembrance and a celebration of life for loved ones who have died.

WALL, NJ — Wall High School's DELTA Leadership Club is partnering with HOPE Sheds Light and the Wall Community Alliance to host “Light the Night” an evening of remembrance and celebration of life.

Members of the Wall community can gather at the Allaire Community Farm on May 18 to remember those who have died due to substance abuse and mental health issues over the years.

“We will set up luminary bags, lit by tealights which family and friends may decorate or write a loved one’s name who has lost their battle with substance use disorder or mental health issues,” said HOPE Sheds Light.

The event officially kicks off at 5 p.m., where there will be a variety of community outreach tables and family fun activities followed by guest speakers. At 7:30 p.m., all guests will walk the luminary path as a community, remembering their loved ones.

A moment of silence will be offered, remembering individuals who have lost their lives to substance abuse or mental health issues. After the completion of the walk, instrumental music will be performed by Wall High School students.
