MCPO Investigating Shots Fired, Gunshot Victim Found In Wall

Following a report of shots fired in Neptune Friday, Wall police discovered a gunshot victim during a traffic stop shortly after.

WALL, NJ - A report of shots fired in Neptune Friday morning is being investigated in connection with the discovery of a gunshot victim by Wall Township police officers during a traffic stop shortly after, authorities said.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 22, officers from the Neptune Police Department responded to the 300 Block of Fisher Avenue for a report of shots fired, according to a statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Shortly after, Wall police stopped a vehicle for a motor vehicle infraction and discovered a passenger in the vehicle suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Neptune Police Department are investigating the Neptune Township shooting incident at this time.
