Memorial Day Ceremony Set For Vietnam Veterans' Memorial in Holmdel

The remembrance on May 30 will honor those who lost their lives serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

HOLMDEL. N.J.—The 2022 Memorial Day Ceremony at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, here, will take place from 11 a.m. to noon on May 30 and will include presentations of wreaths by many organizations.

The ceremony is a remembrance of those who have lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The welcome will be presented by Major Gen. Clark Martin, USAF (Ret), chairman of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation. The ceremony will include a posting of the color guard, singing of the National Anthem by Sandra Ward and an invocation by Chaplain Marc Crabtree of Rolling Thunder. The keynote address will be by fourth-grader Vincent Lorenzo of Barnegat, who recently paid tribute to veterans at a ceremony in March in his hometown. Scholarships will be presented by Gerry Appel to Bridget Lim and Matthew Thorn.

The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial honors all those who served our country and state during the Vietnam War, especially the 1,562 New Jersey men and 1 woman who did not return home. The Memorial is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
