Monmouth County DWI Checkpoint For Saturday, Sept. 2
Police will be looking for drivers who are under the influence of drugs as well as alcohol.

WALL, NJ — The Monmouth County DWI Task Force will be looking for drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol again this weekend.
On Saturday, they will conduct a checkpoint on Route 138 in Wall, said Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer, the task force coordinator.
The checkpoint will be run from 10 p.m. Saturday through 2 a.m. Sunday, Palmer said.

Task force members and officers from the Wall Police Department will pull vehicles from the westbound lanes into the dental office parking lot to determine the drivers’ sobriety, he said.
Law enforcement agencies are required to announce the location and time of a DWI checkpoint under the law, New Jersey State Police have said.

"The purpose of DWI checkpoints is to make our roads safer and reduce crashes attributed to driving under the influence," State Police said in post about DWI checkpoints earlier this week. "If you’re not driving under the influence, you have nothing to fear."
