$14.3M Slated For Monmouth County Projects As Part Of Federal Omnibus Bill
In Monmouth County, federal money will be used for education, healthcare supplies, flood resilience and more. Here's what we know.
MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Monmouth County is slated to benefit from President Joe Biden's $1.5 trillion omnibus spending bill. The federal government will provide $178 million in funding to New Jersey, which means Monmouth County will receive a portion of the funds for upcoming projects.
Monmouth County will receive a total of $14,359,000 to fund a variety of municipal and county-wide projects, including lead pipe removals, a flood mitigation project in Keyport, and increased healthcare supplies.

Here's some of what's coming to Monmouth County:
- NOAA James J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory at Sandy Hook (Highlands): $480,000, to higher additional researchers to study the impact of climate change on marine habitats and fisheries.
- Monmouth University (West Long Branch): $450,000, for coastal resilience research.
- Brookdale Community College (Lincroft): $450,000, to establish a center for excellence in cybersecurity education.
- Long Branch: $2,000,000 for facilities and equipment for the city Health Department.
- Bayshore Jointure Commission (Tinton Falls): $60,000, for life skills and training program.
- Garden State Equality (Asbury Park): $175,000, to address trauma and mental health for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) youth and Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) youth.
- Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey: $400,000 for facilities and equipment for the Red Bank primary care center, $500,000 for other expenses, and $700,000 for facilities and equipment for the Freehold family health center.
- 180NJ, Turning Lives Around (Hazlet): $500,000, for mental health support for youth.
- Firemans Park (Keyport): $450,000, to raise elevate the existing bulkhead to reduce flooding in the downtown business district.
- Red Bank: $250,000, to remove lead water pipes.
- Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence (Allentown): $394,000, for its youth drug and violence prevention program.
- Shoal Harbor and Compton Creek (Middletown): $8,000,000, for dredging.
