Route 35 Overnight Traffic Shifts Planned In Wall: NJ DOT

The shifts are set to continue for the next several weeks while water main work takes place, the NJ Department of Transportation said.

WALL, NJ — Route 35 is set to have overnight traffic shifts in both directions on the Bridge over North Branch of Wreck Pond (mile post 18.2) starting Tuesday night and continuing for the next several weeks in Wall, the NJ Department of Transportation (NJ DOT) said.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, and continuing daily Monday through Friday at the same time for the next several weeks, traffic on Route 35 northbound and southbound is scheduled to be shifted on the Bridge over North Branch of Wreck Pond (mile post 18.2), near Ocean Road.

"The traffic shifts are necessary for water main work," NJ DOT said. "At least one lane will be maintained in both directions."

Drivers are advised to slow down, use caution, and expect delays when driving through the work zone.

This work is part of an $8.3 million federally funded bridge replacement project that will replace the Route 35 Bridge over North Branch of Wreck Pond in Wall Township.

Additionally, the project will make repairs and improvements to drainage facilities and underground utilities, as well as to curbs and sidewalks.

The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2028, according to NJ DOT.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
