Bystanders Rescue Teen Girls From Rip Current In Monmouth County: Police
Breaking: The two were pulled from the water and received mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, a report said.
AVON-BY-THE-SEA, NJ — Bystanders pulled two swimmers from the ocean late Monday afternoon after they got caught in a rip current, police and reports say.
The Avon Police Department said they were called to the Garfield Avenue beach for swimmers in distress and said the two had been pulled from the water by the time they arrived. They were taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.
NBC4 New York reported the two were teenage girls and that mouth-to-mouth had to be performed on the girls. Their conditions were not available.

Lifeguards do not begin daily watch over the beach until June 20, the NBC 4 report said.
