Last Chance: Touch-A-Truck On Saturday

Second annual event slated for this weekend

Many township children – and perhaps some adults, too – who’ve always wanted to climb inside a racecar, fire truck or helicopter will have a chance later this month when the Wall Township Recreation Department holds its second annual "Touch-A-Truck'' charity event.

, the Recreation Department is bringing back the dump trucks, fire trucks, tanks and helicopter again for a return engagement April 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the municipal complex, 2700 Allaire Rd.

Kids will be able to sit behind the steering wheels of their favorite trucks, or cranes or other heavy equipment, take pictures and explore everything about their favorite vehicles.

The township has never done anything like this, but they believe it will be something fun for the entire family, Grill said.

Money raised at the event will go toward the Adopt-A-Wish program, the Make-A-Wish’s main program, which helps grant wishes for children between the ages of 2 and 18 with life-threatening medical conditions.

Each vehicle will be staffed by an expert to teach the kids about the inner-workings of the vehicles as well as to answer any questions the youngsters may have.
