Town May Accept Free Land

Estate of deceased resident wants to donate property to the township

The Township will add to its cache of open space under if an ordinance introduced at Wednesday’s Township Committee meeting is adopted next month.

The committee voted unanimously to introduce the measure which would accept a bequeath of a 2.7-acre parcel on 18th avenue.

The property, at 2701 18th Ave., is land-locked with state land. It is owned by the estate of Marie K. Winter, which has been trying to sell the land. It has been unsuccessful and has said it would like to donate the land to the town, according to the ordinance.
