Amid Hazing Scandal, Wall HS Set To Hire New Coach: Report
Wall High School's varsity football team is looking to hire a new coach amid a hazing scandal that first came to light in November.
WALL, NJ — The Wall Township High School administration has their eyes on the next varsity football team coach, the Asbury Park Press reports.
Ed Gurrieri, the former Manalapan High School head football coach, has been recommended to take over as the varsity coach for Wall.
The position for head coach was posted late in January following the hazing scandal that enveloped members of the school's football team. The accusations were initially reported in November, and after an official investigation, resulted in juvenile criminal charges against several members of the Wall varsity team.

At the BOE meeting, the board will vote on whether to approve Gurrieri for the position with a coaching stipend of $9,122, NJ.com reports. If hired, Gurrieri would replace Anthony Grandinetti, who was not re-hired after being placed on administrative leave last season.
The official decision is set to be announced at the district’s Tuesday night school board meeting.
